Explore Sweden's grand estates, sparkling lakes and
impressive forests by bike
In central Sweden’s heartland lies Stockholm, the nation’s capital city
spread across 14 islands, each providing a different perspective of the
city. Not too far southwest of the capital is a different world, where royal
palaces and castles are interspersed with pine forests, open green fields
and vast lakes. Exploring this region by bike ensures a full immersion in
the subtle landscapes of its archipelago and beyond. With a relaxed pace
there is ample time to swim in the refreshing Baltic waters, hike trails in
manor house grounds and visit towns of pretty wooden houses. Concluding
in Stockholm, enjoy the city at handlebar level and gain an insight into its

An island hopping cycle adventure to explore Stockholm's
southern archipelago
Explore by bike Stockholm's southern archipelago with its more than
24,000 islands stretching 80km east of Stockholm to the Baltic Sea.
With their abundant nature reserves, colourful wooden houses and sandy
beaches, the islands offer exceptional cycling opportunities particularly in
summer when the island life is buzzing. From Tyresta National Park where
moose and deer roam freely, travel between the islands to take in the views,
visit historic landmarks, swim or kayak and hike forest trails. Returning to
Stockholm by boat, watch the transformation from uninhabited islands to
the urban clusters of the city. At night stay in atmospheric hotels often with
superb views over the islands and housed in historic buildings.
