Travel by bike and barge from the Golden City of Prague
along the Vlatva and Elbe Rivers
The Czech Republic impresses all with its original river landscapes,
picturesque villages and romantic castles whose history and architecture
can often be traced back to the Middle Ages. With its fairy tale ambiance and
golden spires, Prague is regarded as one of Europe's most beautiful cities
and is a fitting starting and finishing point to this grand bike and barge tour
to discover the Bohemian countryside and idyllic river landscapes. The cycle
route follows the Upper Moldova River, in Czech called Vlatva, to Melnik,
home to a great wine growing tradition. The ride continues along quiet
backroads and trails along the Elbe River through classic scenery of hill‑top
castles and lovingly renovated villages before returning to Prague. Spend
some time exploring this 'Golden City' and its many highlights including
Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle in the world, the UNESCO World
Heritage listed Old Town, Charles Bridge, the restored Market Place, the
Wenceslas Square and the Jewish Quarter.

Cycle between the two great European cities of Vienna and
Prague
This cycling tour links two of the most culturally and historically significant
cities in the World. You will have time to immerse yourself in a world of
architecture, where the Baroque and classical styles mix and mingle with
older gothic and younger neo gothic and 'Cubist' styles. From Austria the
ride takes you over gently rolling terrain and through Moravia, Southern
Bohemia ‑ some of the most romantic and beautiful parts of the Czech
Republic. You'll explore the castle towns of Telc, and the incredibly well
preserved Cesky Krumlov, an important historical town with a fantastic
castle, cobbled streets and square. During the tour you can reward yourself
by sampling the variety of local regional cuisines or one of the many
fine beers which have been brewed since early medieval times. Finally,
you'll arrive in Prague, the city of a hundred spires. Prague's beauty is
overwhelming and the optional half‑day sightseeing tour will take you to its
highlights such as Prague Castle, The Lesser Town and crossing the Charles
Bridge to see The Jewish Quarter and Old Town Square. The tour will also
take you to historic Wenceslas Square where the demonstrations that led
to the 'Velvet Revolution' took place.
