The compact cities of Munich and Salzburg are firmly entrenched on the

the dramatic Bavarian Alps which overlook the deep lakes and forests which
characterise the Bavarian landscape. Taking a combination of quiet roads
and dedicated cycle routes, this inspiring journey by bike will captivate the
senses as you pass by castles, colourful markets and spa towns. There
is ample time to take a boat ride, swim in the lakes, visit museums and
wander through the magnificent gardens of Herrenchiemsee as you journey
between picturesque towns. Reaching Salzburg via the German Alpine Road
and Saalach River is a fitting end to the journey. At night stay in comfortable
hotels with local charm and feast on delicacies of the region.
Munich to Salzburg Cycle

Tölz (60km) 3 | Visit Lake Tegernsee and continue to Lake Schliersee (35km)
4 | Cycle rolling hills en route to Bad Feilnbach (35km) 5 | Visit the ship
building town of Neubeuern en route to Lake Chiemsee of the 'Bavarian
Sea' (45km) 6 | Cycle along the River Traun to Inzell (35km) 7 | A scenic route
through the mountains and along Saalach River across the Austrian border
to Salzburg (55km) 8 | Trip concludes

An inspiring traverse around Dachstein Mountain (2995m)
The Dachstein massif southeast of Salzburg is like a small mountain range
with dozens of peaks of 2500m or more, typified by its series of glaciers
and sharp descents to the valley floor, the limestone mountain contains
some of the largest caves in Austria. During this exhilarating circuit trek,
there is ample opportunity to take in the awesome views of ice fields and
alpine meadows, limestone peaks and dramatic lakes. At night you stay in
atmospheric mountain hotels interspersed with 3 nights in mountain huts
high up on the central massif.
Dachstein Circuit
ITINERARY: DAY 1 | Arrive Gosau 2 | Hike to Hofpürgl Lodge with
overnight backpack (5-6.5hrs) 3 | Descend to the Türlwand, overnight
Ramsau on Dachstein (5-7hrs) 4 | Day at leisure to explore Ramsau with
Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card 5 | Ascend the Dachstein Glacier lift
to Hunerkogel and walk to the Gutenberg Lodge with overnight backpack
(4-5hrs) 6 | Walk to Grafenbergalm and on to a hotel above Gröbming (6-
7hrs) 7 | Walk via Notgasse to the Viehbergalm and Steinitzenalm, descend
to Bad Mitterndorf (6-8hrs) 8 | Walk to the Steinitzenalm, Lake Ödensee,
and on to Bad Aussee, continue to Obertrauner Höhenweg then by boat
to Hallstatt (7-8hrs) 9 | Visit caves then ride the Krippenstein cable car
10 | Visit Hallstatt salt mines then follow the Brine trail to Bad Goisern with
overnight backpack (7-8hrs) 11 | Walk to Gosau (4hrs) 12 | Trip concludes
