Explore the mountains and coasts of Spain's most exotic
islands
The exotic Spanish islands of La Gomera and Tenerife are a year round
walking destination. In Tenerife, the highest island in the Atlantic, you'll
explore Mount Teide the third tallest volcano in the world. From the ancient
university town of La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the elegant
resort of Puerto de la Cruz on the north coast, this self guided walk offers
varied walks through the island's tiny villages, black sandy beaches and
dry cactus strewn valleys. Travelling on to the volcanic island of La Gomera
you'll experience more dramatic scenery with its mountainous terrain
unlike anywhere else in Europe. You will be walking virtually round the island,
experiencing a variety of landscapes from rocky to cultivated terraces and
banana plantations and into the rare laurisilva cloud forest, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site.

A serendipitous walk in the Sierra de Tramontana in
Majorca
Away from the burgeoning overdeveloped coastal resorts there is another
world in Majorca. The north western spine of the island, the majestic Sierra
de Tramontana is a massif of limestone peaks tumbling to the turquoise
waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Within this range you can venture forth
on a series of mountain and sea cliff hikes; through shady holm oak
forests and olive groves; over rough wild rocky peaks and on elaborately
constructed coastal paths. Stroll through ancient farmsteads and visit tiny
sun‑drenched beaches. You will stay at three of the island's most attractive
locations giving you the opportunity to explore the most scenic walks in the
Tramontana. Our route takes you to two of the highest peaks where there
are stupendous views of the northern part of the range and the great fertile
Mallorcan plain far below.
