A classic self guided supported walk in the Alps through
France, Switzerland and Italy
A trek around the highest peak in the European Alps where spectacular alpine
scenery combines with the charm of French, Swiss and Italian mountain
villages. This historic itinerary takes you across passes, around enormous
glaciers and via stunning lakes to take in some of the best viewpoints in the
Alps. Meadows crossed by clear melt water streams lead you downwards to
green pastures where shepherds will sell their fresh Beaufort cheese to you!
Mountain refuges and charming gîtes provide a relaxing respite at the end
of your day's trek. This journey is for experienced alpine walkers ‑ providing
an enthralling alpine adventure with unsurpassed views.
ITINERARY: DAY 1 |
Walk from Chamonix Valley to Trient in Switzerland

Trient to Champex (6hrs)

Walk through the Valais des Hommes
to La Fouly (6hrs)
4 |
Walk across the Grand Col Ferret path into Italy (6hrs)
5 |
Walk to Courmayeur (5-6hrs)

Cross the Seigne mountain path into
France (8hrs - or shorten to 5.5 hrs with bus)
7 |
Cross the Col de la Croix
(2483m) and Col du Bonhomme (2329m) to the Contamines Valley (5hrs)
8 |
Walk to Les Houches (5hrs)

A classic alpine walk through the meadows and mountains
of France, Italy and Switzerland
One of the classic mountain walks of the world, the Tour of Mont Blanc
circles the highest mountain in Western Europe, providing walkers with an
opportunity to sample the culture and flavour of three different countries:
France, Italy and Switzerland. The walk follows ancient pack animal routes
with each ascent to the next pass rewarded by a new and exciting vista
of the great peaks of the Alps. The traverse of the high passes takes you
beneath spectacular glaciers and at other times you pass through Alpine
villages and summer meadows. The satisfaction of completing one of the
world's great walks provides the finishing touch to a wonderful holiday.
